In the world of fashion and the arts, Karl Lagerfeld is a force to be reckoned with. This time, the head designer and creative director of Chanel has picked "Twilight" actress, Kristen Stewart to play Coco Chanel in a movie he directed.

Stewart, who is known for her role as Bella in the famous "Twilight" movies, has been billed to play iconic designer Coco Chanel. Stewart has appeared in several campaigns for the high-fashion brand and has been constantly present in the front row of Chanel fashion shows. Now, the actress will play the designer herself in a film being made for Chanel's next Métiers d'Arts show in Rome.

The film took two days to shoot at Luc Besson's studio in Paris last month. The movie has an interesting storyline that shows a fictional, behind-the-scenes look at the soon-to-be-filmed biopic about Gabrielle Chanel.

Stewart portrays an actress hired to impersonate Coco Chanel as a young woman. Geraldine Chaplin, who was been in Lagerfeld's previous films as a middle-aged Chanel, also appeared in the film.

In a post by WWD, Lagerfeld went on to describe the kind of "diva" character that he created for Stewart. The movie takes a different turn from all other kinds of biopic, as what would be expected out of Lagerfeld's direction.

"She played it really, really mean. You only see her in tests and she's complaining about everything. She's mean with the director; mean with the producer," said the designer in the report.

Most of the movie is shot in the office of the "would-be-producer" of the film, as well as in a corridor.  Lagerfeld acted as an all-around creative crew for the film, as he conceptualized the plot, wrote the dialogue, designed the costumes, and took care of the casting. To add a more realistic touch from the fashion world, Lagerfeld casted Harper's Bazaar editor, Laura Brown, to portray an American journalist.

"They make so many movies about Chanel, why can't I make one?" said Lagerfeld, as if justifying the project.

The film is set to premiere on Dec. 1.
