According to GSM Arena, China based Meizu launched its MX5 smartphone in India on August 26; however, the handset is currently available on Snapdeal and is priced at approximately $300. Meizu is offering only the 16GB variant to its customers in India while its color options are only limited to silver black and silver white. The report goes on to claim that the 32GB and 64GB variant of the same phone are likely to be up for grabs, in the foreseeable future.

It is said that the Chinese smartphone maker has chosen a soft launch in Indian markets with the m1 note being sold on Amazon. Even the m2 note was launched through online retailers only. MX5 is the company's flagship phone. It was launched in China in June, this year itself.

Tech Firstpost goes on to explain that the phone comes with a metal body design. The beautiful matte grey finish is highlighted with two chrome lines in the top portion of the phone. Weighing slightly less than 150 gms, the phone is extremely lightweight. The thickness is just 7.6 mm. Though the metallic finish makes the phone a little slippery. The 5.5- inch display makes it a big screen smartphone and the main operating button is in the centre. Additionally, the display is Super AMOLED. This button also houses a fingerprint sensor for extra security. The report claims that the initial look is more swankier than the predecessor models.

As for the camera specifications, the MX5 comes with a 20.7 MP rear end camera as well as a front facing camera of 5 MP. Meizu's MX5 comes with a custom user interface called Flyme UI and is powered by the Android 5.0 operating system. The dual nana SIM card slot allows the user to accommodate 3G and 4G connections. The battery is powerful and supports the unique quick charging feature for better effectiveness.
