First-time mom Lucy Liu introduced the "new little man" of her life via Instagram.

Chinese actress Lucy Liu becomes a mom for the first time. According to US magazine, the 46-year-old actress welcomed the birth of her son Rockwell Lloyd Liu via surrogate. A representative of the star said that the baby was brought to the world via gestational carrier.

"I can confirm that Lucy Liu is the proud mother of Rockwell Lloyd Liu, brought into the world via gestational carrier. Mom and baby are healthy and happy," a representative of the "Elementary" actress said.

The 46-year-old is indeed a proud mama. Liu who has always been private about her personal life surprised everyone when she presented her son to the world, Perez Hilton reported.

"Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu. In [love]," Lucy captioned together with the photo.

Although Lucy has said very little about her life away from the spotlight, she did talk about children in a previous interview. In an article by Daily Mail, she said that she would want to have kids in the future and might do it alone, which is what happened exactly.

Lucy has certainly kept her private life closed, but did talk about the racism and typecasting that she faced in Hollywood. The "Charlie's Angels" actress said that she wished people would see that there's more to her than just an "Asian girl who beats up everyone."

"I wish people wouldn't just see me as the Asian girl who beats everyone up, or the Asian girl with no emotion. People see Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock in a romantic comedy, but not me," Liu said. "I kind of got pushed out of both categories. It's a very strange place to be. You're not Asian enough and then you're not American enough, so it gets really frustrating."

Lucy said that there is certainly racism present in Hollywood which makes having an acting career more difficult.

In the past, Liu was linked to Zach Helm, Will McCormack and Noam Gottesman. But when asked about her lovelife, the actress said that she wished she knew the answer herself.
