Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose is being charged with sexual assault and gang rape by his ex-girlfriend. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday and the NBA star vehemently denies all accusations.

A woman identified only as "Jane Doe" has thrown serious allegations against Rose and two of his friends. She claims in her lawsuit that she was drugged by the athlete after which they raped her, Chicago Tribune reported.

Though the incident happened in 2013, she asserts that she was severely traumatized and even suffered physical injuries. She had post-traumatic stress that soon resulted to her losing her job, the lawsuit detailed.

According to the woman's account, they were all in a party drinking. She had left ahead of them in a taxi. But Rose and his two friends forced themselves into her apartment later in the evening and sexually assaulted her.

While Rose did not deny knowing the woman and having a relationship with her in the past, he strongly refutes all her claims.

"I am just focusing on staying healthy and getting ready for the season. I am not going to comment other than to say: I know the truth, and am confident I will be proven innocent," he told the news site.

In another report by TMZ, the woman could not give any more details of the incident aside from flashes of the three forcibly raping her while she was "incapacitated" by the drugs they gave her.

It clearly took her two years before she filed a complaint which makes critics question her truthfulness, but she contends that she felt "ashamed" about it as she was from a conservative family.

Rose is not the only athlete ever accused of sexual assault. Over the past weeks, another athlete also from Chicago was charged with a similar case.
