(Photo : Reuters) OnePlus is running a promotion that will see the company ditch the pre-order requirement for potential buyers of the One Plus 2.
OnePlus 2 has just been launched but new software is coming to fix some of its bugs and issues. The OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 2.0.1 is said to have been implemented by OnePlus in order to primarily fix the current problem of every Android-based smartphone at the moment - the StageFright bug. The StageFright has been happening since the Android 5.0 was implemented and it was in the form of a video MMS. The MMS message will deliver a very catchy subject, a user will be inclined to open it, and once opened, the hack process will be able to take control of the Android device.

According to Gadgets.ndtv, the Oxygen OS 2.0.1 will not only cover the StageFright issue but some other fixes the OnePlus 2 phone already has, which includes the unstable pinch-to-zoom feature of the phone as well as the importation of contacts from the SIM card itself. The first firmware issued by OnePlus has been the OxygenOS 1.0.2 which was supposed to help with the StageFright issue. It was first launched in India and the firmware was about 1.1GB in size. The Oxygen OS 2.0.1 will be the first firmware the OnePlus 2 will receive after it was launched few weeks ago.
Launched on July 27, OnePlus 2 will receive its first software update with Oxygen OS 2.0.1. The elusive smartphone is contained only to those consumers with email invites making it very hard for others who want the unit to acquire one. Prior to their launching, OnePlus launched a campaign titled "What Would You Do For The Two," in which a fan will have the chance to get a free OnePlus 2 handset if they are chosen among the contestants. The campaign was featured on the OnePlus Website.
The Oxygen 2.0.1 will also enhance the battery life of the OnePlus 2 unit as well as support for Global Carrier APN's. The Over-The-Air software update may have to start in regions in India and slowly integrates to other regions until such time it covers all OnePlus 2 locations.
