An Emotional Sherri Shepherd Says Goodbye to "The View" (VIDEO)

It was an emotional day for the ladies of "The View" as Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd said their goodbyes

The two co-hosts entered the stage dancing, with the audience cheering "Sherri, Sherri, Sherri!"

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg began the program by saying that it was a sad day for all of them as Shepherd was moving on to bigger and better things.

The network did not renew either McCarthy's or Shepherd's contract. The two announced that they were not coming back for the next season last June.

Removal of the two is part of the upheaval being done on the show after creator and former panelist, Barbara Walters, gave up her on-cam duties.

Shepherd started her soliloquy by saying that she was grateful for the opportunity of being a part of "The View" panel although she didn't think that she was capable of it. "My boss, Barbara Walters, pushed me. I cried in my dressing room for three years saying, 'What am I doing on this table?'" she shared.

The seven-year host then narrated a time when Goldberg found her in the room crying and told her that if Walters didn't believe she could keep up with the rest of the panel, Walters wouldn't ask her to be part of the show.

Despite being fired from the show, Shepherd believes her time in "The View" has been a far greater experience than she would have imagined.

"This is surreal to me: I am sitting here and thinking 'I can't believe I'm interviewing these people,'" she shared.

Starting Tuesday, reruns for the show will be aired. "The View" will be airing new episodes on September.

Aside from Goldberg and Rosie O'Donell, the former host of the show making a comeback, no other hosts have been chosen yet.
