NASA has been very specific about what they see, and right now, they do not see any type or form of an asteroid hitting the earth by September 2015.
According to IBTimes, the apocalypse is not at all nearing, and if indeed there is an asteroid coming, NASA has bailed out of it. The effect of too much information has allowed people to assume and make story concepts about it that naturally others are so keen on listening to. If the story about NASA setting up a "Hypothetical Asteroid Impact Scenario" was indeed true, things could have turned into a different concept.

The theory has been immediately denied by NASA first, because it is their responsibility to issue the truth behind the apocalypse and anything that has something to do about it, including asteroids. Second, they owe it to the people to make them feel safe by letting them know what the NASA agency knows, specifically about the doomsday asteroid that is said to land on earth soon.
According to Paul Chodas of Jet Propulsion Laboratory, he said "There is no scientific basis, not one shred of evidence that an asteroid or any other celestial object will impact earth on those dates."
According to Forbes, NASA has not recorded any activity that pertains to an asteroid hitting earth. In fact, potentially hazardous asteroids have less than .01 percent chance of ever reaching the earth for another century more. Chodas also said that if the asteroid rumored to hit earth by September is indeed true, NASA would have seen it ahead of time and made the necessary predictions and pre-emptive actions to the regions affected.
Claims about the asteroid hitting Puerto Rico to be specific has been false all along based on scientific concept and the fact that none of what NASA currently sees will affect the earth in the near future should put the rumor of doomsday asteroid at ease. NASA recently called out Doomsday theorists about their predictions that don't actually come true but still alarms the public.
