Fan theories, Easter eggs and clues have Bizarro instead of Doomsday as the main villain in the upcoming "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Various rumors have Doomsday being the main villain, and a fight scene featuring Wonder Woman was also credited to the alien monstrosity. Heroic Hollywood took the cudgels to make the call.

"During the fight with Doomsday, Wonder Woman draws that awesome sword of hers, swings it at Doomsday and manages to chop off the hand of the beast" as the article described. "Wonder Woman is badass and got skills but don't count Doomsday out! He is still in the fight! Complications ensue because a BONE BLADE grows back where Doomsday's hand used to be! In screenwriting that's called a reversal. Now Doomsday got a blade of his own."(sic)

Despite the certainty, there are those who believe that Doomsday will be saved for a later story. In the comics, Doomsday is significant because he killed Superman. There were also allusions to that in some leaked set photos where a funeral was taking place.

However, an interview with Michael Shannon, who played General Zod in "Man of Steel" and is also a part of Batman V Superman, with Variety, it was revealed that he was in costume and he had "flippers for hands."

"I was in my costume, and I couldn't use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands." It was an amusing story and he even narrated that director Zack Snyder was frantically looking for him.

When asked about what he was in the movie (considering he's wearing flippers):"Well, I haven't seen the trailer either, so I don't know what I am in the trailer. I could be a toaster, or a Porsche, I don't know."

Actors using jest to enforce secrecy is nothing new, but the flippers also point to Doomsday. But Screen Rant suggests that because Shannon is actually in costume, the character might be more human than CGI. It could be "perhaps even a mesh of several Superman villains, like Doomsday, Bizarro, and possibly even Metallo."

A fan theory from Reddit elicited a sharp eyed fan (user "Big Whig") spotting an Easter egg and commenting: "In the BvS trailer, at 2:46 theres a deflated basketball with 695 on it. DC comic Superman Volume 1 695, Superman faces Bizarro. I mean could be pure coincidence, not sure why the basketball is there though."

While that could be meaningless, at this point, any theory is possible.
