New Orleans Pelicans superstar forward Anthony Davis said he would prefer to win another Olympic gold medal than an NBA MVP award.
Asked by SLAM magazine to choose between winning an MVP award at the end of this season or a gold medal in the Rio Olympics, Davis went with the latter because it comes only every four years while the chance to win the MVP is there every year.

He added that he's not sure if he would be tapped to play again in the Olympics
Davis also said that winning the Olympic gold is such a memeorable experience and there was nothing like it.
He won a gold medal with 2012 U.S. Men's National Team for the London Olympic after he was included as a replacement to an injured Blake Griffin.
Davis did not play many minutes in London, but is expected to play a much larger role in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 draft, Davis reached new heights last season when he averaging 24.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.9 blocks and 2.2 assists per game-- all career highs.
Perceived by many as a favorite to win the MVP award for the incoming season, Davis is also considered by many as a shoo-in to make the Olympic team.
However, it will take time before USA Basketball trims its roster to a final 12-man team from the 34 they have on training camp.
There are also eight other power forwards on the roster, namely: Mason Plumlee of the Portland Trail Blazers, LaMarcus Aldridge of the San Antonio Spurs, Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets, Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo wanted seasoned, established veterans and rising players vying for spots.
Colangelo also wanted promising youngsters to participate in the program with hopes of cracking future rosters.
Colangelo wanted players to consider playing for Team USA an honor and career achievement, the Boston Globe reported.
He noted that all the players want to be a part of the Olympic team and understands there's going to be some turnovers along the way.
Colangelo said that those selected would form a very elite group.
