Fans already know for a fact that Nina Dobrev, who is one of the main characters of the "Vampire Diaries" has left the show. She will not be playing any role in Season 7 which is going to kick off on Oct. 8. Now to keep the show interesting, the focus has now shifted towards the love that is developing between Caroline Forbes and Stefan Salvatore. The love duo will be sharing their adventures of the blood thirsty world, while figuring out their love equation.

The Executive Producer of the show, Caroline Dries, has gone on to reveal that Caroline (Candice Accola) is not so simple and she will not directly jump into a relationship. Things will not be a smooth sail for them.

When asked Caroline Dries about how season 7 is going to be, she said that the primary focus will be Caroline and Stefan and their relationship will keep the audience engaged because it is never going to be certain where they actually stand.

It's like they are good friends, but obviously they have a lot more than just friendship. They will go through ups and down before they actually reach a stage where they develop that evident and intense love. The couple in the show have already expressed their feelings. The show runners and the writers have also expressed that they have worked hard to ensure that the love angle between the two is not a conventional boring one, and the flair of intensity will surely ignite once they both hit that love spark.

Caroline is still in the trauma of things which she has faced (the death of her mother), so it's natural for her to take time before giving a go at Stefan. However, she will ultimately be conquered by her feelings that she has for Stefan. So Season 7 coming up will have a fair deal of love and emotion.
