With Nina Dobrev already out of the show, another challenge for the CW drama is the real life pregnancy of the star Candice Accola, who plays Caroline. With Season 7 already focusing on Stefan and Caroline for keeping the show alive, the baby bump might require some tweaks in the script.

The actress recently shared an image on Twitter where she is seen carrying a baby bump on her painted T-shirt that reveals her pregnancy.

Having said that, the good thing about "Vampire Diaries" is that they are never stringent with the rules of the Vampire World. Vampires cannot get pregnant as they say, like they cannot walk under the sun. But they always find ways, like the ring which many of them use to walk under the sun, and not to forget the coming back from the dead. So,this simply means that the writers of the show might use some new twist in the tale. However, the question is that even if they are ready to make her pregnant in the show, is Stefan (Paul Wesley) ready to take the role of vampire father, and what other adjustments would be required to both their characters?

Another option for Caroline's Baby bump is to simply hide the bump. This can be done through using loose clothing techniques, close in shots, and using body double for the wider shots and stunts.

Another option to counter the baby bump which has already been seen in the "Vampire Diaries" is the switching of bodies through black magic. However, the question here will be how long the body swap can last, because obviously the bump is going to become more visible as the pregnancy period progresses. So using the body swap option might affect the fan following for the show.

The last and the least viable option is writing her out for some time. But again, with the main leads like Nina Dobrev out, this option might not be a good one for the show's rating. So the pregnancy of Candice will surely test the show runners.
