Trying to find a work-home balance is difficult, but if you're getting married to George Clooney in a month and you're a high-profile lawyer at that, it could be exhausting.
Although Barrister Amal Alamuddin is appalled by the situation in Gaza, she had to turn down the United Nations' offer to be part of the team to investigate war crimes in the area. Aside from her upcoming nuptials with Clooney, the British-Lebanese lawyer is busy juggling eight ongoing cases at the moment.

Last Monday, the UN's Human Rights Council stated that Alamuddin would be serving on a three-person commission who will be in charge of inquiring about possible rules of war violations during the Israeli offensive against Hamas.
The commission was supposed to be made up of Alamuddin, Doudou Diene of Senegal and William Schabas of Canada.
Diene was actively fighting for the UN in the struggle against racism and human rights offenses in the Ivory Coast.
Schabas, on the other hand, is a professor of International Law at Middlesex University in London.
Within hours of Alamuddin's appointment, Stan Rosenfield, Clooney's agent, issued a statement on behalf of the actor's fiancé.
Alamuddin wrote in the statement, "I was contacted by the UN about this for the first time this morning. I am honoured to have received the offer, but given existing commitments - including eight ongoing cases - unfortunately could not accept this role. I wish my colleagues who will serve on the commission courage and strength in their endeavours."
Alamuddin isn't only famous for being Clooney's fiancé, the barrister has achieved quite a lot in her own career.
The 36-year old Oxford alumna, who got engaged to Clooney last April, specializes in human rights and international law. She is best known for representing WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and Yulia Tymoshenko, the former prime minister of Ukraine.
52-year old Clooney also actively campaigns for human rights both in the US and abroad.
