The "House of Cards" director James Foley is the frontrunner for the movie "Fifty Shade  Darker." He was also officially been offered and he accepted the role to direct the said sequel of the  "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Many asked why Foley has been chosen to direct "Fifty Shades of Grey" instead of keeping the same director Sam Taylor-Johnson. Foley is best known for his masterpiece directing the 12 episodes of the Netflix series "House of Cards." The "Fifty Shades of Grey" producer, Dana Brunetti also worked with Foley on "House of Cards," reason why Foley was lucky enough to be chosen, Variety confirmed.

Foley was also known for his acting drama career from the mid-80s to 90s plus he directed the movie "Fear" with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Wahlberg, "After Dark, My Sweet," "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "At Close Range."

"Because Foley has a proven track record for getting performances out of his casts, he seems a good choice here. Both Johnson and Dornan are relative newcomers playing roles that are far from easy,"  said Mike Fleming Jr.

Meanwhile, Taylor-Johnson said that it was difficult for her and she will not lie about her feelings. They have a creative fight and hoping they will resolve them. She also said that she is not confrontational.

According to Movie Pilot, some criticized the choice of replacing Taylor-Johnson by a male director. Foley and Glengarry Glen Ross were confirmed to direct "Fifty Shades Darker" but the only problem now is the budget.

Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Jamie Dornan and (Anastasia Steele) will reprise their role in the "Fifty Shades Darker." There will be three new characters that will be introduced in the sequel. The production will begin in early 2016 and will be released on the 2017 Valentine's Day.
