Daniel Radcliffe Criticizes His Own Acting; Which Potter Film Was Worst For Him?

Three years after the release of the final Harry Potter film and the last appearance of Daniel Radcliffe as the boy wizard who lived, the actor has now spoken up about the significance of being self-critical.

Rising to fame as the main character in the Harry Potter movie series, Radcliffe described his approach to acting in one of these films as very much "complacent" and "one-note" that he had a hard time watching it.

In an interview with the Mail last Sunday, the 25-year-old actor claimed how the Potter films have been "an incredible blessing", giving him huge opportunities in his career in the movie industry.

However, Radcliffe admitted how he found some of the Potter movies, particularly his own acting, to be objectionable. He referred to these as "the moments I'm not as proud of, mistakes other actors get to make in rehearsal rooms or at drama school, are all on film for everyone to see".

The British actor did specify that he disliked his performance in the sixth installment, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", describing it as "not very good".

On the other hand, he considered his acting in the fifth movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", as the best one and cited "progression" as the main reason.

Radcliffe, whose indie film "What If" has recently premiered in the U.S., has drawn attention to the importance of being self-critical as well as proper opinion from others.

"It's more important for me to be very critical because I've grown up in an atmosphere where everyone is always wanting to be nice to me and say what I'm doing is great," the actor said. "And so you don't trust that."

All eight Harry Potter movies, all starring Radcliffe, have grossed over US$7.7 billion at the worldwide box office. At present, the series remains to be the highest-grossing film franchise in history.
