Samsung Galaxy S6 as well as Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are already in the queue to receive the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade for US Cellular and T-Mobile carriers. They are also confirmed to get Android M update, upon its release.

The upcoming version of Android operating system, Android Marshmallow is expected to be released along with the release of Google Nexus 5 2015. This is expected in the month of October this year. The current upgrade, Android Lollipop 5.1.1 is also being rolled out for many Samsung devices, as per news reports by The International Business Times.

AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon are yet to make this offer, as per reports by The Neuro Gadget. Since the release date of the upcoming upgrade is nearing, it is rumored that the left out devices might directly get an upgrade jump to Android Marshmallow 6.0, skipping the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrade as well the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are also in the queue to receive the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade for the Sprint users. This upgrade is aimed at fixing the Stage Fright bug which is known to be plaguing many smart devices currently. Verizon and T- Mobile reportedly released the Stage Fright update for these devices, but not the actual Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy S5 users are already using the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade for the T-Mobile network carrier. Other carriers are yet to release this upgrade for this device.

If the latest rumors are to be believed, many Samsung Galaxy devices will receive the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update in the near future. The includes Samsung Galaxy S series smart phones. The Samsung Note series, on the other hand will receive the Android M.

Android Marshmallow update will bring new features into the devices such as a more usable "Quick Settings." App permissions have also been completely revamped so that the users can pick and choose what pertains to them.
