Avril Lavigne, the Canadian/French singer, and the lead singer of Nickelback, Chad Kroeger, have been confirmed to have parted ways. Both have been married for two years. The separation was announced by Avril on her Instagram account where she also shared an image of the couple during their merry times.

The picture was coupled with her statement that, "It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support,"

Avril and Kroeger got engaged in 2012 and they married in July 2013. The rumors of their split started hitting the scene early when Avril celebrated her 30^th birthday where Chad was not present. However, Chad rejected the rumors of any split in an interview with ET Canada.

"you know my dad calls me up and he's just like, 'I haven't slept in 2 days, what's going on?' I'm like, 'Dad, you're not buying all this crap are you?' You know, I get to hear all the rumor mill stuff. I find it very amusing," stated the 40-year old singer in an interview.

During her appearance on a morning show back in June, Avril shared that she was battling with a disease called Lyme, and it took her about 5 months to fight it. She wanted to live life to the extreme after having this second shot at life.

She was also previously married for 3 years when she had a divorce back in 2009. Having said that, the couple has handled their split in a good manner.
