Fans were disappointed as the news broke. "Grey's Anatomy's" McDreamy was being written off the show! In the previous season, the neurosurgeon Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) died, leaving Meredith Grey a widow. Fans loved the chemistry between the two characters and hated to see Derek go. The creators had to face a lot of criticism on their decision to kill off such an amazing character. Some have lost faith in the show and claim that it would not be as good as before. But creator Shonda Rhimes is positive that season 12 will be great.

As season 12 nears the premiere, there were some spoilers on screen that may convince fans not to give up on the show just yet. According to the actors' interviews, romance is in the air in the upcoming season. Dr Webber and Dr Catherine Avery will have a very steamy relationship. The newlyweds will be in the limelight this season.

This season will take on a similar theme as that of the beginning of the show. There will be a lot dating, flirting, and sex in the hospital's on-call room. Alex and Jo are living together. Callie and Arizona no longer together, but they remain friends. They will reach a whole new level of maturity and start seeing other people. Owen and Amelia's relationship is still not defined. They are trying to figure out if they are just friends or more than that. April and Jackson are still split up, but fans will have to wait to see what happens next when the show returns.

Dr Bailey will find out if she was named Chief of Surgery or not when the show returns. As far as the protagonist is concerned, there is no love interest in the picture for Meredith Grey. She will be seen doing some self exploration. She is evolving and trying to figure things out as a single mother. Also, she will be living with her two sisters Maggie and Amelia in Ellis Grey's house. The tone of the show has changed at some levels and it would be interesting to watch the show after a major change! The show premiers on Sept. 24 on ABC.
