Dabai was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer several days before the university entrance examination.

Being afraid of influencing their son's treatment, his parents did not reveal the illness.

Dabai chocked back the sharp pain and finished the exam. Having held out until the last subject English, Dabai couldn't bear the pain and submitted his paper in advance.
