Is love much sweeter the second time around?

Former teen bride Courtney Stodden and actor Doug Hutchinson are certainly hoping so. The couple is giving marriage another shot as they shared the news of their engagement. The two split last fall.

After being apart and eventually reuniting, Stodden shared that she realized that the 54-year old "Lost" actor is the one for her.

Stodden's mom and manager Krista Keller confirmed the news on Fox 411, saying that she is ecstatic that the two have decided to wed again. "When I signed that (marriage certificate), I think moms sometimes know their daughters and I'm very very happy for them that she's made this choice again for herself," she reminisced, looking back at the time her once-minor child got married to a much older man.

Stodden was only 16 years old when she married Hutchinson. The two met when Stodden, an aspiring pop singer, signed up online for one of Hutchinson's acting workshops. They shared that they developed a relationship and fell in love online before meeting in person.

The reality TV star is now 19.

The reason for their split last November 2013 was suposedly their 35-year age gap which made it difficult for them to relate with one another. After the couple broke up, Stodden said that she was looking forward to being a "normal" teen.

"I'm just my taking the time to be me and be single and be 19 and to try and be as much as a normal 19-year-old as I possibly can," she shared.

Keller said that her daughter has been with other men since her separation from Hutchinson, which only made her feelings for the actor even stronger.

It seems that months of separation and a fading notoriety have made Stodden realize that she was more famous as part of a couple than by herself.
