(Photo : Reuters) Xiaomi has denied that it has entered a deal with US Mobile to sell its devices in the United States.

Consumers are still hyped up on the latest Xiaomi Mi5, but rumors are circulating that the company is developing yet another model that will set the brand on the high end again - the Xiaomi Mi Edge device.

According to Christian Post, the new device is set to be released in October and its design has been the most constant talked about feature of the Xiaomi Mi Edge phone. While it's said to have a similar profile as the RedMi Note, the Xiaomi Mi Edge is considered to be one of the curve series of the brand.

The said Xiaomi Mi edge is equipped with a 5.2-inch dual-curved edge screen with a 2K HD resolution display. Its metal framework will give a sleek finish rather than a cheap edge plastic that some giant tech companies still incorporate to their devices. It is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon, 80 Hexa Core SoC and is accompanied by a 3GB Random Access Memory, along with a finger print sensor.

Its 16 MP back facing camera is said to have been updated with an Optical Image Stabilizer for better image results. Although there have been no official announcement regarding its existence, let alone the price, rumors says that the Xiaomi Mi edge will cost around $400.

According to IBTimes, Xiaomi is definitely offering the competition to Samsung as they readily integrated the curve feature, which was originally implemented by the Korean-based tech company.

In China, Xiaomi is the top contender when it comes to smartphones, and while they have survived marketing long list of models for their brand, the Xiaomi Mi Edge is deemed to be different once launched. If indeed the rumors are true for its curve feature, the issues on pricing may come as steep competition as Samsung has better prices than that of Xiaomi.

Whether Samsung is threatened about the new Xiaomi Mi Edge or not, they have not indicated releasing a competing device that could shut down the apparent growing popularity of the Mi Edge. Still, consumers should take note that these specs are released based on speculations and waiting for its actual release in October could prove these rumors are true or not.
