UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will be the lead star in the remake of "Road House," a role that was first played by Patrick Swayze.

The cult classic is about a bar bouncer, who apparently is a skilled fighter, protecting a small Missouri town from a corrupt businessman.

Rousey reportedly reached out to Swayze's widow, Lisa Nieme, to ask for approval as she takes on the role. She received Nieme's support according to her agent Brad Slater.

The mixed martial arts fighter tweeted how humbling it is to do the project. She promised that she will work hard to make the movie something that Swayze's family and the fans will be proud of.

Rousey has already been part of three movies namely, "Furious 7," "The Expendables 3," and "Entourage." She is set to film "Mile 22" alongside Mark Wahlberg.

The 28-year-old fighter will also star in her biopic based on her book "My Fight/Your Fight."

"Road House" grossed $30 million at the box office, but it created a cult following with reruns being shown frequently on cable TV.

Rousey comes off fresh from a win against Bethe Correia, which she won by a knockout in just mere 34 seconds into the fight. She remains undefeated with a 12-0 record on her belt.

Meanwhile, Rousey is getting ready to defend her title in a fight against Holly Holm on November 15 at Melbourne, Australia.

The UFC hopes to break its viewing record on Rousey's next fight.

Rousey's fame continues to rise as none other than Beyoncé showed her "Do Nothing Bitch" clip in her recent concert.
