A 41 years old woman in Chuxiong city, Yunnan Province, is in a dilemma to abort her baby at eight month to keep her husband's job as a police officer because she was violating the country's childbirth policy.
According to the current family planning policy of PRC, married couples can have a second baby if just one parent comes from a one-child family.

"This couple, however, both sides are not the only child. Therefore, it is illegal for them to have a second one." The Health and Family Planning Bureau of Chuxiong city announced on Tuesday.
If the couple insists on having the incoming baby, they have to face hefty fines and the husband may be fired from his government job.
"Rather than forcing the couple to abort the baby, we just tell the consequence of having it. It's up to them." A local official at Chuxiong city told The Paper.
So far, the husband has been persuaded to decide to give up the unborn baby. The wife, identified by her surname, Chen, is afraid that public's attention on this case will make it complicated.
"I am worried he would lose his job even after we lose the baby, if the situation gets messy." Chen said to US News.
This case spread very quickly and became a controversial topic on Chinese social media sites. Weibo users have different opinions about it.
Some of them expressed sympathy and support with the family and urged them to keep the baby. James Liang, CTrip CEO, even promises that if the husband is sacked, he can get a job at CTrip, a china-focused travel agency.
Many critics, however, stand on the opposite side. "As a government officer, the man should definitely know the policy and abide by. He has to pay the price," someone wrote.
"It is dangerous for the elderly pregnant mother to undergo abortion at 8 month. They had better keep the child. " another person suggested.
