"Outlander Season 2" is already in its production phase, and though the season is still set for release in 2016, many speculations and rumors are already circulating regarding the setting and the cast of the upcoming season. Various reports indicate that many shots that will be featured this season will be taken in Paris, and Jamie, Claire's daughter, and Brianna will share some of the spotlight this season.

However, one of the major rumors that is of concern to the fans is that the season will be deviating from the original timeline in the book, and such a change would impact the role of Brianna.

Per TV Line, Season 2 will see a major deviation as it may follow the fourth book in the series, though it would still be in line with the second book "Dragonfly in Amber." The scene would star Brianna who has followed her mother secretly as she moves back in a previous timeline to find her father whom she has never seen and her family that she never knew of. Sony Pictures, the production house for the series, has said a statement, "Fans of the books will know that [Brianna] first appears in the second book, Dragonfly in Amber, which corresponds to the season we are currently filming, but continues on to have several major story lines as noted in the casting search."

This rumor has already been confirmed as the process of casting is up and running. A tall actress is needed to play the role of Brianna, and she should be grounded and earthly, not girly, and should show vulnerability and inexperience. Though Brianna is known to have ginger-colored hair in the story, the production house is casting any girl regardless of hair and may dye them in case needed.
