The Mayor of London has now initiated talks to China Investment Corporation and the officials from Seoul to pursue the airport project. Other investors, local pension funds and infrastructure companies, also see the potential of this project as they create a long-term capital to the project's scheme.

The said airport will be called the Thames Hub Airport. Johnson initiates talking with other private companies to get as much funding as possible. Last Friday, a blueprint of the hub airport was published by the Foster + Partners, showing a high-end modern design. It was estimated that the project will cost £24 billion, a lesser cost than expected.
Other private sectors, also contends on promoting the further developments of the Heathrow and Gatwick, in the belief that a new airport is needed to protect the Britain's competitiveness in the economic industry.
Aside from the Isle of Grain airport, the mayor also tasked several individuals to conduct a feasibility study to see the potential of building an artificial island located in the Thames Estuary, on the expansion of the Stansted. These will be the runway of the planned Thames Hub Airport.
He said, "Ambitious cities all over the world are already stealing a march on us and putting themselves in a position to eat London's breakfast, lunch and dinner by constructing mega-airports that plug them directly into the global supply chains that we need to be part of."
When asked for comments about the talks with the possible investors, Boris Johnson declined to share comments. However, the discussion will be of little amazement as sovereign funds are now important sources of some western infrastructure developments. The Chinese government is also being wooed to invest in other UK projects, like the 'super-sewer' and nuclear power stations in London.
The China Investment Corporation is also the minority shareholder of the Heathrow Airport Holdings and may affect the options for the expansion of aviation in Britain.
