Cowboys' Scandrick Apologizes for Drug Use

Cowboy Dallas’ Scandrick Apologizes for 4-Game Suspension

Dallas cornerback Orlando Scandrick has apologized to his teammates and his family after the NFL suspended him for four games after testing positive for drug use.

"I made a bad decision," Scandrick told reporters last Tuesday morning, after the Cowboy's walk-through practice.

"I'm responsible for what goes in my body. I'm very sorry. I apologize to the Jones family. I'm very sorry to my teammates. I'm sorry to the fans of Cowboy Nation. I'm very sorry to my family. It's a very humbling experience," Scandrick continued.

Scandrick had just come back from a vacation last April from Mexico where he and his ex-girlfriend had allegedly taken amphetamine, a known recreational drug.

Another report, which was leaked to ESPN's Ed Werder, claimed that Scandrick took MDMA or Molly, a party drug also known as ecstacy, which also contains amphetamine.

Amphetamine, along with other drugs like Adderall, Ritalin and Molly, a party drug, are included in the NFL's banned substance list.

Scandrick acknowledged the league's decision of his suspension given last Monday, after submitting himself to a drug test last April. He had strongly denied being forced to take the drug, nor using the drug for competitive purposes or enhancement purposes. It was "just a bad decision," he maintained.

This "bad" decision will force him to miss out on the first four games of the season. He, however, will still be allowed to play in the exhibition games, returning on Sept. 28 after Dallas plays against New Orleans.
