He may be gone but his spirit lives on. This is especially true for actor Paul Walker who celebrated what would have been his 42^nd birthday, after an outpour of support from his friends and family flooded social media on September 12.

Walker died in a car crash in 2013 after just holding a charity event. The "Fast and Furious" star has been known for his involvement in charities. To honor him, his family vowed to continue his legacy by continuing his good works.

The actor founded "Reach Out Worldwide" in 2010 after the Haiti earthquake. Now his brother Cody is the foundation's brand manager, according to a CNN report.

On Walker's 42^nd birthday, his daughter Meadow Walker announced the launch of another foundation in his father's honor "The Paul Walker Foundation." The charity is all about wildlife and ocean protection.

"I don't know anyone that loves the ocean as much as Paul did. It will always remind me of him," Cody told People in an interview.

On her Instagram, Meadow also talked about his father's passion for the ocean and helping people. "Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people..." She added that the new foundation they launched is their way of sharing this part of their father to the world.

Family and close friends joined an intimate celebration of the actor's birthday by the ocean-a place closest to Walker's heart.

Social media was filled with friends and fans paying tribute to the actor. His "Fast and Furious" co-actor Dwayne Johnson paid his respects saying, "Happy birthday brother. Grateful you were born."

Nathalie Emmanuel wished the actor was spending his birthday with them. She tweeted, "Happy Birthday. Wish you were here."
