American Idol star Kelly Clarkson cancelled her US tour following doctor's orders to rest her vocal cords. The singer has been on a US-wide tour since July 11 but may now be off stage until September 20.

"So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates. This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice!" she wrote on Twitter.
Clarkson also assured her fans that she has never cancelled shows in the past unless absolutely necessary and apologized for those looking forward to her show. "Please know that I never cancel anything unless it's absolutely necessary."
But her international tour is still set as planned as of this writing. Clarkson is set to make a stop at Ontario, Canada on Oct. 1, the first stop of her international tour.
In a series of tweets, the singer assured fans that she will be back all healthy and ready to perform, "I can't wait to get healthy and see y'all back on the road soon."
Last month, the American Idol winner announced she was pregnant onstage during a show, USA Today reported. During a performance she unexpectedly blurted, "I'm totally pregnant." To which fans cheered. Clarkson is on the way to a second baby. She has a one-year-old daughter River Rose.
Meanwhile, a Billboard report said that Clarkson and other Idol stars will be back for the talent show's final season. Sources told the news site that the finale season will showcase crowd drawing alumni such as Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Phillip Phillips, and Jennifer Hudson.
"We're going to be reflecting on the huge successes and amazing moments from the past 14 years," a source told the site.
