Williams said that as a point guard, he's excited to be able to play with someone of Nowitzki's caliber also looks to lighten the burden on the 37-year-old German, who will enter his 18th with the NBA, according to MAVS.com.

A three-time All-Star point guard, Williams also expects to quickly rekindle court chemistry with Wesley Matthews, his back court partner during the 2009-10 season while with the Utah Jazz. The two are reunited as Matthews signed a reported four-year deal worth $70 million with the Mavericks.

Williams is coming off  his lowest-scoring output since his rookie campaign he's looking forward to beginning the 2015-16 campaign with a clean slate.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Williams averaged 13.0 points, 6.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 31.1 minutes an outing while appearing in 68 games last season for the Nets.

He also shot just 38.7 percent from the field.

After buyout talks with the Nets', Williams signed with the Dallas Mavericks as a free agent on a reported two-year deal worth $10 million that includes a player option for the second season.

Now, Williams says he's excited with a fresh start in trying to regain his All-Star form while helping the Mavericks get back to the playoffs.

Furthermore, Williams also says he likes the  stability of the Dallas locker room after having to play for four different coaches in 3 1/2 seasons with the Nets, Sports Illustrated reported.

Williams feels that with their stability, the Mavs just have to plug in the new pieces - like himself - in getting functional.
