Mobile app company LINE Corporation has developed a photo application specifically for young people in Europe and North America that makes taking selfies a snap.

The B612 app, named after the asteroid where the Prince resides in "The Little Prince," is currently exclusive for the iOS.

It uses the device's front-facing camera and the user only has to touch any part of the screen in order to take a selfie. The shutter sound is muted, which encourages photographers to take as many pictures of themselves as he'd like without drawing the attention of others.

The photo app is simple and doesn't save every photo unless the user indicates it.

Once the picture is saved on the device, it can be shared on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Although LINE created the application, there's currently no option to send the pictures through the Line instant messaging program.

While most camera apps let the user put a filter once the picture is snapped, the B612 uniquely offers to apply the filter before the photograph is taken.

A photographer can use a quick button at the bottom of the screen to choose the filters or he can manually select the filter to his preference. Since the camera is activated by touching the screen and the pictures aren't saved automatically, it works well, said The Next Web.

The selfie application currently has 43 built-in filters. The B612's combination of different filters, simple layout and fine-tuning menu will appeal to those who are addicted to taking self-portraits.

The application is LINE's attempt at increasing its brand awareness among the youth in Europe and North America, according to The Verge.

Based in Tokyo, LINE is a Japanese company and a subsidiary of South Korean company Naver Corporation. LINE's business is mainly associated with the development of mobile applications and internet services.
