(Photo : Reuters) Skype has rolled out new updates for its Skype for Web service.
Animated Mojis seems to never go out of fashion. Microsoft Skype features new emoticons that aim to cheer up Skype chats and allow users to express oneself in more creative ways.
Microsoft News reported that Skype Mojis are short clips from favorite movies and TV shows in GIF form. These Mojis are placed directly into a Skype chat when words are not enough to capture for that "ah-hah", "haha", or "yikes" moment. The GIFs will be accompanied by a link of that movie or TV show which can be purchased or rented from the Windows Store.

It is easy to send Mojis by just tapping the emoticon button or opening the emoticon picker. This also allows users the possibility to browse movies, TV shows, or expressions by previewing Moji before sharing with friends. Once the Moji is dropped it in the chat box, the animated character will do the talking.
Microsoft verbalized excitement on the collaboration with famous movie studios such as BBC, the Universal Studios, Disney Muppets, and other top producers around the world to continuously bring their public new films and characters to add to Moji collection. This first Moji release will kick things off with fan favorites such as Despicable Me, Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, Jurassic Park, The Muppets, and so much more.
According to Mashable, it has become interesting that Skype is now using GIFsm an image format which can basically be seen everywhere on the internet. GIFs images are widely distributed online without any royalties going to the production studio that created them.
It is a bit difficult nowadays to determine one messenger to another when they all offer the same services. And so, Skype Mojis are putting a slight edge that distinguishes one app apart even if just small additions on the features.
