It turns out that an innocent survey and an ordinary dig in a Seattle region last week end up discovering a cache of 10,000 year old stone tools.
The discovery was near to Redmond Town Center mall. It was merely an ordinary archeological survey that was taking place before the planned construction. Various sorts of stone tools of about more than 4,000 of them were being unearthed, which date back at least about 10,000 years ago.

It is believed that the stone tools belonged to the earliest residents of the Seattle region. According to The Seattle Times, archeologist Robert Kopperl led the dig. He was amazed because the place is the oldest archeological site in the Puget Sound lowland with the old stone tools.
The stone tools included stone flakes, awls, scrapers, and spear tips. There were still others that have not been readily named. This discovery though is not too recent.
Kopperl has already talked about the discovery at a Redmond Historical Society sponsored presentation over the weekend. With his colleagues, he published an initial analysis in the PaleoAmerica journal. By this, he had called attention to the findings in the said area, according to Slash Gear. Here, using some chemicals, the tools were analyzed to be consisting traces of bison, deer, salmon, bear and sheep. Clearly, these were used for hunting for food in the past.
A site studied also shows evidence that it has been occupied by "small groups of people" that assigned themselves in the task of both fixing and creating tools, which is a theory that explains the thousands of tools found in the area-the Bear Creek shores, tributary to the Sammamish River. Kopperl added that this place was a very good spot "to have a camp" where they could use to hunt, to fish, to gather and make tools out of stones.
This discovery is said to be one of the most notable archeological discoveries in the western part of Washington.
