Lifetime is currently making plans to produce a new biopic on the late actress Brittany Murphy. The said biopic will be entitled "The Brittany Murphy Story" and is scheduled to air on September 6 at 8 pm.

"Last Man Standing" actress Amanda Fuller will be taking on the role of Murphy, while "Ray Donovan" star Sherilyn Fenn will play Murphy's mother Sharon.

The said film will focus on Murphy's younger years, her relationship with her mother, as well as her untimely, controvesial death and the aftermath of the said tragedy.

The made-for-TV movie will show Sharon as a loving and supportive mother who could not save her daughter from her own demons and insecurities, nor from the temptations and misdoings of Hollywood. 

Sharon was said to have always encouraged her daughter to be creative. In an interview, Murphy stated that Sharon was her "support system," saying, "When I asked my mom to move to California, she sold everything and moved out here for me. She always believed in me." 

Murphy's estranged father, Angelo, claims that her daughter's death was not accidental. According to Angelo, forensic evidence points to deliberate poisoning.

The synopsis Lifetime has released writes, ""As news reports swirl and Angelo demands that the authorities reopen the investigation, Sharon struggles with being thrust once more into the limelight to talk about her beloved little girl."

However, despite Sharon being an integral character in the flick, her rep stated that she did not give the green light for the movie. Her rep also stated that she was not consulted and is not cooperating with the production of the biopic.

Brittany Murphy, best known for her roles in "Clueless," "Girl, Interrupted" and "8 Mile," died on December 20, 2009 at the age of 32.

After five months, her husband, Simo Monjack, also passed away.

The coroner's office attributed both deaths to pneumonia and other causes.
