Oh, that had to hurt.

In what must be a severe loss of face, the wife of Jonathan Saenz, a Texas anti-gay extremist, left him for another woman.

Revealed in divorce documents recently made public, Corrine Morris Rodriguez Saenz served her husband divorce papers after 10 years of marriage. Those papers, obtained by Texas-based Lone Star Q, reveal Rodriguez left Saenz for a woman named Ercimin Paredes.

Within  six months of the revelations, the staunchly Catholic Saenz became head of Texas Values, an anti-gay, anti-abortion grass-roots political action group. He now predicts same-sex marriage support could apply to polygamy or incest and that it could lead to the jailing of "thousands and thousands" of pastors who dissent to officiate gay marriages. Saenz also advocates the controversial pseudo-scientific practice of gay conversion therapy. 

Court documents show the attorney for Saenz "made discovery requests and issued subpoenas seeking information about Corrine Saenz's relationship with her girlfriend."

Saenz alleged Rodriguez was "deeply involved in her relationship with Ms. Paredes as early as the fall of 2010." Accusing Rodriguez on a charge of adultery, and nearly two years after initial proceedings, Saenz demanded Paredes banned from being in the presence of his and Rodriguez's two children. For the duration of the divorce proceedings, Saenz sought to have Paredes barred from the courtroom. 

Initially, Saenz asked the court for a refusal of divorce, and requested to bar "any unrelated adult, with whom the parent has an intimate, romantic, emotional, and/or dating relationship to remain in the presence of the children, including but not limited to Ercimin Paredes, a/k/a Ercilia M. Paredes." 

Rodriguez stated to the court that her marriage was "insupportable due to discord or conflict of personalities...that destroys the legitimate ends of marriage and prevents reasonable expectations of reconciliation." 

Saenz and Rogriguez both taught at Becker Elementary School in Austin, the capital of Texas. The divorce became final in August of 2013 and made no mention of outside parties, including Paredes.
