W&S Open: Lu Upsets Berdych, Janowicz Takes Down Dimitrov

Yen-hsun "Rendy" Lu upset fourth-seed Tomas Berdych, while Jerzy Janowicz took down seventh-seed Grigor Dimitrov in the second round of the Western and Southern Open on Wednesday.
Berdych got off to a great start as he broke the 30-year-old Lu in the first set, held serve and took the set. But Lu recovered in the second set and ran away with the 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, victory to advance into the next round.

Lu will face 15th-seed Fabio Fabini.
Just minutes before the Berdych-Lu match, Janowicz took down the Bulgarian star Dimitrov in another three-set clash, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
The unseeded Janowicz had more time to rest after exiting early in the first round in Toronto last week taking the first set in a Dimitrov error.
The hard-hitting Dimitrov got back in the game as he dished out multiple power serves to send the match into a deciding set but the 23-year-old Janowicz fought back to end Dimitrov's stint.
The World No. 65 Janowicz served up a total of nine 12 aces to win his fifth career match against a Top 10 player. He will go up against Julien Benneteau in the round of 16.
Dimitrov ended an excellent run after a first Grand Slam semifinal appearance at Wimbledon only to fall to World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in a four-set match. He beat Andy Murray in the quarterfinals.
Defending champion Rafael Nadal wasn't able to defend his crown in Toronto due to a wrist injury he sustained while practicing at his home in the Mallorca Islands.
