Lisicki, a Wimbledon semifinalist, won the first set after she took advantage of a break on Errani's serve at 5-4. The Italian staged a comeback in the second set after breaking the German's serve twice to send the match into a third set.
The deciding set was a classic as both players wouldn't let up on their serves sending the game into a tiebreak. At 2-all, Lisicki rallied five straight points to end the match 6-4 2-6 7(7)-6(2).
Lisicki will go up against Rogers Cup winner Agnieszka Radwanska, who was also her opponent at Montreal in the third round.
After the match, Errani suited up for her doubles match along with Vinci, who also lost her singles matchup also against Lisicki in the first round.
The Italians got off to a blazing start in the first set against the team of Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia and Czech Republic's Barbora Zahlavova-Strycova breaking the pair to win the set.
Hantuchova and Strycova tried to stage a comeback in the second set, tying the Wimbledon champions at five apiece but an opportunity opened up as the Canadian Open winners broke the tandem's serve to win the match 6-3 7-5.
The Italian duo advances to the third round and will face off sixth seeds Hungarian Timotea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic.
The defending champions of the tournament are second-seeds Hsieh Su-wei and Peng Shuai, who will see action in their second round matchup Thursday against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Lucie Safarova.
