This will be an exciting game according to FIBA website. For a very long period, these two nations dominate the basketball arena in Asia, particularly in the history of FIBA wherein both teams have already won the championship crowns. China has won five titles over the last eight FIBA Asia cups while Iran snatched three.
Team China boasts of its 'power frontliners' which consist of four men more than 2.1m in height. Some sports analysts believe that the team may have geared its line-up in preparation for Iran's big players led by Hamed Haddadi.
The team's lead playmaker, Guo Ailun, is expected to play the best game of his life and counter Iran's Mahdi Kamrani. The Dragons will have a good chance of stealing victory from Team Melli if Guo managed to play aggressively and effectively especially during crucial plays.
On the other hand, Team Iran looks very determined to win against their Chinese opponent after their depressing loss to Gilas Pilipinas. Their key players Mahdi Kamrani, Hamed Afagh and Samad Nikkhah Bahrami together with Mohammad Hassanzadeh and the mighty Haddadi are all anticipated to play at their best to prevail in their semis match.
Basketball fans should also watch out for a good match-up between the two Goliaths, China's Yi Jianlian and Hamed Haddadi. Some considers this match will dictate the phase of the game.
But still, the squad who will play more effecient offense and perform better defense will become the winner.
Meanwhile, whichever team to win the game will advance to the finals match and meet against the victor of Japan-Phillipines semis clash.
