Apple seems to be changing its trends as they have wanted a smart ring. Its next big thing will be called an "iRing".
According to ITProPortal report, a patent called "Devices and Methods for a Ring Computing Device" has been filed by the American company and published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday. American multinational technology company Hints on what a smart ring's potential use are given by the company. The ring will be useful where smartphones usually fail.

The touchscreen will emit a light that is inappropriate in certain social environments and can be dangerous making a threatened user vulnerable. There is still a need to improve on this to make it a more discreet, safer, more efficient and more ergonomic way.
A smart TV can be controlled using this device. A set-top box includes a computer, smart home appliance, an Apple TV, tablet, and even audio or entertainment system in auto.
A number of smart rings are already introduced. For example, MOTA Logbar or Fin have on sale smart rings ranging from £60 to £130 and are mostly used to control smartphones and other devices.
The new patent application has a finger-mounted device stuffed with microphones, biometric sensors, motion sensors, cameras, a haptic feedback system, and even a small display.
A number of capabilities have been marketed as tentpole Apple Watch features such as heart rate monitoring and inductive charging. A stand-in for a smart watch crown mechanism might be used by the ring device.
Apple Insider reported that it is like a crammed miniature computer into a shell that wraps around the user's finger. It is powered by an onboard processor. It has multiple inputs and output components. Among of which is the touch pads or touch screens that measure one to five centimeters on the diagonal. To accept gesture input with enough precision, built-in accelerator and gyroscope modules are provisioned to facilitate handwriting capture.
Two rings can also be worn to control multiple aspects of a host UI. A tactile feedback interface that is capable of responding to user input audio cues and controlled vibratory pulses are also incorporated. There is also Taptic Engine which is a pressure-sensitive input.
