(Photo : Reuters) Amir Khan has revealed that a negotiation is underway for a fight between him and Manny Pacquiao, which could be staged next year.
British boxer Amir Khan said over the weekend that negotiations for a possible match between him and Philippine boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao is currently under way. Meanwhile, Pacquiao has confirmed that the possible opponents for his last match before he retires include Mayweather and Khan.

According to Boxing News, in a recent interview, Khan said he believes that a fight with Pacquiao will be much more interesting than one with Mayweather, who is "very beatable".
Mayweather had earlier announced his retirement from boxing after garnering a total of 49 wins without a single loss. His last match before retiring was in September against Andre Berto.
Boxing experts say retired boxers - including Mayweather - can easily return to the ring if the right incentives are offered.
Amir Khan is positive that a possible match between him and Pacquio could be set up by next year. Both fighters used to be teammates under Freddie Roach. But Khan decided to switched to the Oakland-based King's Boxing Gym under Virgil Hunter.
Changing boxing stables proved to be a wise decision for the boxer from Britain, who has won five matches in succession.
Khan's team failed numerous times to negotiate with Mayweather on a possible boxing match between the two men. Khan's manager, Taz Khan, who is also his uncle, told reporters that they have approached Pacquio's people.
So far, both sides are talking but no concrete agreement has been reached.
Paquiao was attending the AIBA World Boxing Championship last week when he told reporters at Qatar that he is planning to retire from boxing so that he can focus more energy and time on his political career.
Pacquiao said that his last match could take place during the first half of next year. He also revealed that aside from Khan, his team is negotiating for a possible rematch with Mayweather.
Pacquiao lost to Mayweather earlier in the year. However, he insists that he was defeated because he was suffering from an injury to his shoulder at that time. He now claims that his injury has been repaired through surgery and he is ready to take on Mayweather once again.
