Snapchat New Update Brings Slow-Motion, Fast-Forward and Rewind Filters for Videos

Snapchat Videos New Update on Slow-Motion, Fast-Forward and Rewind Filters

(Photo : YouTube) A new set of slow-motion, fast-forward, and rewind filters are seen in Snapchat apps for iOS and Android.

A startup called Speed Modifiers is responsible for a new set of slow-motion, fast-forward, and rewind filters seen on Snapchat apps for iOS and Android, according to Engadget.

Snapchat continues to enhance its core business, which is quick-and-dirty pictures and videos. Now they are making it more entertaining. They are using these new filters to spice up the random moments and endless selfies users share online and to keep them hooked.

The users of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus can get something a little extra with the application, which supports Apple's 3D Touch capability.

User's home screen Snapchat icon can be force pressed to give an easy access to two options, Chat With and Add Friends. Both are self-explanatory.

The video filters were introduced to let users edit their clips before sending them over to friends. The video can now be speeded up, slowed down, or rewinded for some John Woo-style social cinematography, according to Mirror. Users who swipe to the right or sideways to see the new filters can shoot a video.

A snail icon represents the slow motion, which reduces the speed of the video so that people can see the little details. Whereas, a hare icon speeds up the video. Three arrows is the fast forward icon, which looks to be from our VHS days.

Now, it will be interesting to see people on Snapchat get creative with the new filters. Anyone, with just their phones, can now use the same special effects that professional video editors use.

Tech Crunch reported that the new features are not live yet, but an update via the App Store or Google Play store is expected soon.
