Hall of Famer Reggie Miller says that LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony shedding body weight can give more problems for the other teams in the league.

The former Indiana Pacers shooting guard was interview by TMZ about his thoughts about the two NBA superstars' decision to slim down.

Miller said he was convinced that this move would definitely improve the longevity of their careers.

"Prolong their careers," pointed out 48-year-old Miller. "When you carry on too much weight, it kind of shortens the longevity of a basketball player, especially later on as you get up in years it's less wear and tear on your body, so actually it's pretty smart. You saw what happened to LeBron during the Finals-the cramping. I guarantee you he won't have those issues now that he has lost the weight. I think it was [James's] decision, but probably in conjunction with the trainers, it helped. Their game will still be the same. They'll just feel lighter."

James, four-time NBA MVP, lost at least 10 pounds since the end of the 2013-2014 season. Anthony followed the same path and appears to have lost a total of 15-20 pounds. The two basketball superstars flaunted their transformation on Instagram.

It appears that James, 29, and Carmelo, 30, are following the footsteps of their fellow NBA start like Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, and Ray Allen who underwent several diets and workouts to lengthen their basketball careers.

The preparations of these two men definitely makes them players to watch out for this coming 2014-2015 season. With the Anthony and James' stats on the offensive end this past season, they can absolutely scare teams against them.

Carmelo Anthony (27.5 ppg.) and LeBron James (27.1 ppg.) ranked second and third in scoring, respectively, with the lean machine Kevin Durant (32.0 ppg.) winning the scoring title this past season.
