Ex-basketball player Lamar Odom is reportedly showing some health improvements now that he is out of the intensive care unit, off dialysis, and no longer needs a kidney transplant, according to TMZ.

Health professionals are amazed about his fast recovery following his near-death experience when he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel after allegedly overdosing on several drugs.

Lamar reportedly needs to undergo physical therapy. Because of a stroke he suffered, his motor skills has been severely affected and stringent therapy is needed. He is now making his own medical decisions.

According to the USA magazine, 'The Keeping Up with the Kardashian' stars have since arranged a transfer for Odom from Las Vegas to Los Angeles so they could be closer to him.

Odom's estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, who has not left his side ever since the incident, has reportedly promised to be with him. This past Wednesday, according to Wwnt Radio, the ex-couple allegedly signed a petition to push back their divorce, which was  about to be finalized. After the incident involving the former NBA champs, the pair seem to have chosen to reject the divorce proceedings and give their marriage another shot.

Khloé, who is in the midst of promoting her new book, recently took to her official website to acknowledge the team behind Lamar's recovery.

"The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!" she wrote.
