The cyber war of two powerful countries, the United States and China, has gone to an upper scale. Laoying (not a real name), a Chinese hacker is now an ally in the then-opposed country. China currently takes action by initiating a global anti-hacking campaign agreement to lessen threats but there are still threats coming from those outside the system.

Laoying was convinced to be interviewed on ABC given that his cyberspace title will be used. He said that he did target the systems in US for his patriotism to China. Together with his friends, he hacked human rights groups and governments of Taiwan and US.
He said, "I needed a place to release the rebellion I developed as a teenager and to show myself off. We thought our government was weak and we wanted to express ourselves as young men."
"I never think of hacking as being in opposition to cyber police. In fact, the two are complementary. Hackers are young people who are good at discovering and raising problems."
He was the head of a team called the "Eagle Union" who are geared towards attacking security breaches. The name Laoying actually means Eagle - a name mostly admired by his peers.
He said, "We chose targets which were easy to attack and would attract media attention."
"We would prefer officials or government websites but really it all depended on whether the hosting server had vulnerabilities or not."
Recently, Laoying joined a major Western multinational computer company to put his skills to protect cyber threats. Some of his team in "Eagle Union" also agreed to work with him. He did not confirm any works done for the Chinese officials to attack other countries. He only said that a true hacker should be independent from the government.
He also expressed views on the police tracking down the hackers. He said, "If a former criminal works for the police, does he become the enemy of other criminals?"
