Instagram has unveiled its new video channel featuring curated photos and videos of users based on specific events.
The online mobile photo- and video-sharing networking service proved that two different social networks can be merged into one. In line with the Halloween celebration, it features Halloween-based content from users' friends and other contacts.

It allows them to click through and watch videos without seeing the count, text description and other bordering. Instead, they can freely scroll through video after video, according to TechCrunch. The Instagram Halloween feed removed all of the clutter to surface the very best content, and content alone.
The general idea of Instagram’s new feature is to take popular content of the social networking service around a specific event and allows users to find them easily. Instagram's spokesperson said it is the new way to experience events and important moments as they happen via the content from Instagram community.
Curated Halloween content is just the start of the bigger plan of launching curated video content for Instagram users. However, users should not expect to see brand-new curated streams on a daily basis just yet. The company is reportedly looking into profiling other big-name events for future video curations, according to PCMag.
Instagram is not the only social networking site that features content curation. Snapchat first developed and launched Live Stories feature, a human-curated collection of Snapchat content from offline events like concerts and sports games.
Twitter followed with its Moments feature released in October, where it compiles tweets around specific events into one curated story.
By offering curated popular content based on specific events, Instagram gives companies an additional revenue opportunity in the form of brand sponsorships and other event-specific advertising, Re/Code reported.
