Fashionistas gathered outside H&M stores around the world to queue for the much awaited launch of the Balmain x H&M collection. Of course, no fashion enthusiast would ever want to miss the blings and blazers sensation of the famous French designer Olivier Rousteing's House of Balmain for H&M.

The #Balmaination launch in Sydney was anticipated by more than 800 shoppers who withstood the rain at H&M Pitt Street store on Thursday morning. The shoppers were divided into groups of twenty and allowed to shop for five items in ten minutes!

H&M Australian public relations manager Elizabeth Cave said they had to limit the purchase because "We're trying to reward our customers so that, if they line up, they actually get pieces." Furthermore, the company wants to avoid bulk purchase as some of the products are selling on eBay at a higher price.

Most customers splurged money on jackets, especially the pearl black and white jacket and white blazer worn by famous reality TV star Kendall Jenner. In interviews, many shoppers refused to divulge their names or show their faces as they were supposed to be at work.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, people in Kuala Lumpur started forming queues at H&M shops as early as Tuesday at 2 in the morning. Others like veteran shopper like Ahmad Badri were not inspired to join the lines. Badri told Malay Mail Online that "What motivates me [to queue for this launch]? [Balmain] is not available in Malaysia, plus it's a luxury brand that is collaborating with a mass market company, so the price is very low."

Singaporean shoppers have also shown their determination not to be left out of style. A 109-piece collection that opened  in the country on Thursday morning only had tube tops and a pair of size 36 thigh-high boots by noon.

Despite her disappointment of being unable to grab the beaded embellished jacket that she had been eyeing, freelance fashion designer Bi Yue still spent more than $8,000 and left with almost 10 bags at the H&M outlet in Orchard Building in Singapore.

The 28-year-old designer was among the first 30 customers to get in the store. She reportedly began queuing for the launch at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. There were over 500 eager customers on the line at the launch. The queue had started since Monday evening.

From Philadelphia to Paris, shoppers have been posting new H&M clothes on Twitter with hashtag #Balmaination. "A combination of the people who love his brand and making it one nation. And he has got a cool posse of really cool people," said Cave.
