Tai, who claims that she is an acquaintance of Lin Chi-ling, says she arranged dinner for this supermodel and businessmen. Lin has been accused of being one of the prostitutes in Tai's ring.
Lin Chi-ling is a Taiwanese supermodel and actress. She got into the spotlight about a decade ago at the age of 30 and has enjoyed unusually great popularity since. Now 40-years-old and single, Lin has been the subject of many rumors.
Although Lin's agent has come out to deny Tai's claims, rumors linking the model to prostitutions have not subsided on Chinese social media sites. At midnight on Thursday, Lin released a statement on Weibo to address the accusations.
"The unreal report and exaggerated speculation from the press have deeply attacked my personal dignity. I will do my best to see the positive side of the world. But please stop spreading the rumors and uncorrected news. I never even know Ms. Tai!" she wrote.
Prostitution is a serious scandal for female celebrities in China. It can ruin their reputation and careers overnight. This explains why Lin has sought to clarify the allegations repeately.
