British telecom provider 'TalkTalk' was attacked and over 150,000 customer accounts were hacked, the company reported on Friday.
The company said that ongoing forensic analysis is still ongoing on the site, confirming that the scale of the attack was much more limited than initially suspected. Only four percent of TalkTalk customers have any sensitive personal data at risk, the company added.

The data breach was revealed last month. According to The Hill, over 150,000 customers personal data were breached in the hack, with around 15,500 bank account numbers and routing numbers compromised. In addition, the hackers viewed over 28,000 debit and credit card numbers last month. The said incident was originally reported as having the potential to be one of largest attack in U.K. history.
Four suspects were arrested and bailed in connection with this incident. Two 16-year-old boys, one from Norwich and one from west London, a 15-year-old from Antrim in Northern Ireland and a 20-year-old man from Staffordshire.
The goal of the hackers is still unclear for hacking the British telecom provider. According to the company's initial report, the hackers had demanded a ransom for the stolen customer data. Security firms later reported that some pilfered financial data was for sale on the Dark Web.
Chief Executive Dido Harding stated in her statement on BBC that it is the awful truth and she does not know whether all the data was encrypted. She added, "Well, you got to say that we are not and obviously we will be looking back and reviewed this extremely seriously", Harding explained.
This is Money reported that a senior telecoms executive said that the company is acting irresponsibly in handling the cyber-attack. According to an executive from TalkTalk rival company, Harding had taken advantage of her position as a baroness to influence the industry.
The company claimed that they already contacted all affected customers on Friday.
