Martin Lawrence has confirmed that "Bad Boys 3" is indeed in the works.
In a recent guesting at "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", the 49-year old actor talked about rumors of a possible third installment to the highly successful franchise.
He revealed that he had indeed talked with Jerry Bruckheimer, sharing "He said it's real, they're working on a script, they're close and it all looks good."

Although most believe that Will Smith will be part of "Bad Boys 3", he has yet to confirm his participation in the new flick.
The first movie was released in 1995, while the second flick was released in 2003. Both movies saw the memorable team-up of Lawrence and actor Will Smith, who played the roles of detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey.
The 1995 "Bad Boys" movie was "Transformers" director Michael Bay's directorial debut.
Aside from the announcement, Lawrence also shared with O'Brien a personal incident in 1999 when he fell into a three-day coma after he jogged in 100-degree heat while wearing several layers of clothing.
"Do not do that," Lawrence warned viewers against following that part of his fitness regimen.
O'Brien commented that the actor "looked good" and asked him what he is currently doing differently now.
"Crack," the comedic actor joked. Lawrence laughed and said that he's just eating right and exercising.
Aside from his past health issues, the actor has also been known for some personality quirks that made him difficult to work with.
While working on the set of the movie "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate" in 1995, the actor became violent toward other production staff.
The following year, he became even more erratic and was arrested after waving a gun at an intersection in Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles, shouting "They're trying to kill me."
In 1997, he was again arrested for punching a man in a club in Hollywood.
