Sony's latest James Bond adventure movie 'Spectre' got an easy first-place spot at the box office with an estimated $73 million, making it the second biggest Bond opening of all time.
According to Fox News, the 24th film is starring Daniel Craig in the 53-year-old Bond series. It is reported to have cost $250 million to produce the movie. 'Spectre' may have failed to live up to the record-breaking 'Skyfall.' 'Skyfall' debuted at $88.4 million in 2012. It was the first film in the franchise to earn over $1 billion worldwide.

Sony's president Rory Bruer of worldwide distribution said that they never expected 'Spectre' to open to the level of 'Skyfall,' but he is certain that the Bond franchise is as healthy and strong as ever.
Distributor Sony, who co-produced the film with Eon Productions and MGM, had predicted an opening in the $60 million range.
Movie Web reported that the opening of 'Spectre' in 3,929 theaters nationwide earned a 65% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The thriller had dominated at the international box office last weekend and took $80 million in just six international territories.
This film is about a cryptic message from the past that sends James Bond (Daniel Craig) on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually to Rome. Bond met Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci) who is a beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. He intrudes a secret meeting and reveals the sinister organization Spectre.
Head Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott) of the Centre for National Security questions Bond's actions. To be able to untangle the web of Spectre, Bond secretly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to look for Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) who is Mr. White's (Jesper Christensen) daughter. Then he finds a connection between himself and the enemy Christoph Waltz.
The film 'Spectre' is an astounding achievement for a 50-year-old franchise, according to Rentrak's senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian. It opened as No. 1 in all 71 territories and earned a total of $117.8 million. In less than two weeks, it has earned $300 million worldwide and is still yet to open in a few major markets including China.
