Pop-star icon Taylor Swift has proven that she is not just one of the world's biggest pop stars but also a friend who everyone can relate with.

During her recent concert in Singapore, the Straits Times reported that Swift shared some friendly advice with her fans especially teenagers and young women.

"We go through the same things, the same insecurities, the same doubts," said Swift to the 9,000 fans, who attended her concert.

The "Blank Space" and "Shake It Off" singer reached out to her fans by making them understand that she is just an ordinary person who has the same concerns as them.

She advised her fans not to be discouraged by criticisms and haters, and to surround themselves with friends who sincerely love them.

Swift's growing fanbase worldwide called themselves the "Swifties."

Swift is also famous for her network of friends not just from the music industry but also from the TV and film industry.

This was evident during her "1989" world tour concerts when Swift brought out special guests.

A report from the New York Times said among the special guests in her concerts were Miranda Lambert, Lorde, Joan Baez and Julia Roberts. Video messages from her close friends - Selena Gomez, Karlie Kloss and the Haim sisters - were also presented at her concerts. They talked about their friendship with Swift.

During the MTV Video Music Awards in August, Swift shared the red carpet with her actress friends Mariska Hargitay and Hailee Steinfeld, and model friends Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne. These women are also part of Swift's music video "Bad Blood."
