The opening of a Broadway play "China Doll" written by David Mamet and starring Al Pacino has been pushed back by two weeks in the midst of rumors of trouble during its short lived preview run.

The show has attracted negative buzz since it began it's previews on Oct. 21. One of the most critical review states that Pacino had a lot of trouble remembering his lines. Negative buzz aside, the show has earned an estimated $1 million in each of the two weeks it has been running.

Pacino is one of the most reliable actors for Broadway with a track record that includes the highly praised "The Merchant of Venice" and "Glengarry Glen Ross".

"China Doll' is a story of a rich man who has just purchased a plane for his fiancee. Although the show also stars Christopher Denham as a supporting character, Pacino's character has the most stage time - most of it is spent talking on the phone with a wide array of associates.

Although the full story remains unclear to the public, it is said to have been a little boring during the first half then it climaxes to an interesting story towards the end.

Mamet is said to have returned to New York to re-write some of the scenes and further improve the script.

The show will now open on December 4, 2015 and is slated to run until January 31, 2016. It was orignally supposed to open on November 19th.
